Alexandra Byer is a producer living and working in Brooklyn, New York. She most recently produced Matt Porterfield's fourth movie, SOLLERS POINT, which is currently in post-production. Byer produced Tim Sutton’s DARK NIGHT, which had its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and international premiere at the 2016 Venice Film Festival, winning the Magic Lantern Award. She was accepted to and participated in Cannes’ Marche du Film Producers Workshop (2016) and the Berlin Film Festival’s Berlinale Talents (2015). Byer co-produced Sutton's MEMPHIS, which was showcased at the 2013 Venice Film Festival with the support of the Biennale-College of Cinema and Gucci. MEMPHIS premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. She also co-produced STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS (dir. Sam Fleischner), which won the Special Jury Mention at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival and was distributed by Oscilloscope Laboratories.
Byer has produced several short films and frequently works in production on commercials, branded content, and music videos with her company RATHAUS FILMS. Clients she has worked with include Anheuser Busch, Ben & Jerry's, Carhartt Vineyard, Dunkin' Donuts, NetJets, and Twitter.
